Helping society by extending the English language to have a 3rd person protocol of pronouns for communicating unambiguously and gender-free.

Mission: Increase English language gender clarity by reducing ambiguity thru Vylz-e Protocol

Design requirements for the ungendered words. One might ask “why design a solution”. An answer is that we got here in this bad state (see Table 1) because of lack of design. That which is designed well works better and lasts longer.

  1. Gender neutrality: It must be impossible to deduce gender from the ungendered words.

Vylz meets this requirement. It's impossible to deduce gender from vylz-e protocol.

  2. Scope: The ungendered words can be used for the following and only the following: 3rd-person singular-subject , -object, -possessive adjective, -possessive pronoun, -reflexive, -conjunctive forms, plus man/woman, men/women and mankind.

Vylz-e meets requirement. Table 2 shows the solutions.

  3. Distinctiveness: The ungendered words must not be equivalent in spelling nor pronunciation with English words in use now that are pro-gender.

Vylz-e meets this requirement. Vylz-e does not collide with English gendered words now in use of the same spelling nor of same pronunciation.

  4. Uniqueness: The ungendered words can only appear in one row in Table 2.

eg; “her” violates uniqueness because the word is in both the Object row and the Posessive adjective row. Similarly, “his” violates uniqueness because it appears in both the Possessive -adjective and -pronoun rows.

Vylz-e meets this requirement. Each ungendered word appears in only one row in table 2.

  5. Minimal letters: The ungendered words must be no longer in count of letters than the smallest of the pro-gender words they can be used in place of.

eg; 'he' and 'she' contain 2 and 3 letters, therefore the ungendered word must have no more than 2 letters.

Vylz-e meets this requirement. Vylz-e does not exceed character count limits.

  6. Minimal syllables: The ungendered words must contain no more syllables than the smallest pro-gender words they replace.

eg; 'he' and 'she' each contain 1 syllable, so the gender-neutral replacement must have no more than 1 syllable.

Vylz-e meets this requirement. Vylz-e does not exceed syllable count limits.

  7. Systematic: The ungendered words must have a repeating, systematic pattern.

Vylz-e meets this requirement. Vylz-e uses the letter 'e' in all cases where the gendered words conflict in their vowel. Where the gendered words use a common vowel, Vylz-e also uses that same vowel. This is systematic.

  8. Multiple choice: Every ungendered word must have at least 1 alternate ungendered word of identical meaning and which also follow all these requirements.

This is to provide flexibility to allow the user of the word to choose an alternate that sounds right. eg; Zori woke up startled by a noise. As ve listened intently, the sound repeated: ding-dong. Ve hit the snooze button and promply went back to sleep.

Vylz-e meets this requirement with a choice of four words for each ungendered word.

  9. Audible contrast: The ungendered words defined here must have audible contrast.

Definition: Audible contrast is when the end of a word does not sound phonetically identical to the beginning of the next word. (example of bad contrast: Is ze here? example of better contrast: Is ve here? )

Vylz-e meets this requirement by a choice of alternate words when audible contrast fails.
